Michael Close GENERAL MANAGER

Michael has worked in the Employment Services and Training industry for the past 10 years. He has held roles as National Performance Manager and Government Contracts Manager, looking after large government contracts such as Qantas and Australian Defence Force.

Reason for joining ETC:

It is rewarding to be able to work for an organisation that contributes to communities socially and economically. ETC has a strong reputation for valuing staff and making a difference.

Katreena Callaghan CORPORATE SERVICES MANAGER

Katreena has extensive management experience and brings to ETC her expertise in Human Resources, Premises and Operational Management.   Katreena started with ETC when she relocated to Coffs Harbour from Sydney in 2006. Prior to joining ETC, Katreena held various senior management positions in the Banking and Finance industry.

Reason for joining ETC:

I joined ETC to complete my 'sea-change'. After 15 years working for large corporate organisations, I was attracted to ETC as an organisation that supported the community and strived to improve people's lives.

Diane Swift FINANCIAL CONTROLLER

Diane has 25 years experience working as an accountant and financial controller for a range of businesses, including a national law firm, University Co-operative Bookshop and Sydney Theatre Company.

Reason for joining ETC:

I enjoy working in the not-for-profit sector. After moving to the area from Sydney 5 years ago, I was excited to join ETC and be part of its work as a community-based organisation

Jenny Barnett NATIONAL EMPLOYMENT SERVICES MANAGER

Jenny has extensive small business management experience. She has worked in retail management for 15 years and more recently has spent seven years working in the employment services industry.

Reason for joining ETC:

I really enjoy working in the Employment Services Sector. I find it very rewarding, yet challenging. The Employment Services team hopes to continue its tremendous work in changing people's lives for the better. We are privileged to be able to make a difference and see the outcomes of our work within our communities - this is a powerful motivator.

Paul McAra NATIONAL TRAINING MANAGER

Paul joined ETC after having spent five years within the PCYC movement as Site and Regional Manager. Prior to this Paul spent 10 years in the New Zealand Defence Force as a Physical Training Officer looking after the base sporting facilitates and organisation of sports events.

Reason for joining ETC:

Having worked within the not-for-profit sector and for a youth organisation, I have a passion for helping people. ETC offers that opportunity through the training it provides and also the excitement of being part of a growing organisation.

Karina Morrison NATIONAL BUSINESS SOLUTIONS MANAGER

Karina spent 10 years as an Associate Lecturer in academia prior to starting at ETC. This role included teaching and researching areas of business management. Karina has also been a Director of two companies and brings a wealth of both practical and theoretical knowledge of small business to her current position.

Reason for joining ETC:

I joined ETC to further my practical skills in the area of small business. After six months as a business facilitator, I accepted the role of NBSM which includes the management of the NEIS program from Southport to Sydney. Being able to be a part of this growth phase in ETC and providing quality outcomes for the business community is the opportunity of a lifetime!

Sally started her career as a journalist with NBN Television. She has since worked in media, communications and public relations roles in both Australia and overseas for the past 10 years. Sally is also a co-owner and Director in a small consultancy business.

Jackie Parkinson

NATIONAL MANAGER, CORPORATE GROWTH STRATEGY

Jackie has a strong background of working within regional development agencies and not for profit organisations. She is an experienced manager of projects, partnerships and corporate initiatives which encourage business growth, improve services and build stakeholder capacity.

Darren Leaney

NATIONAL BUSINESS RELATIONSHIP MANAGER

Darren was the store owner of The Athletes Foot franchises in Port Macquarie and Coffs Harbour from 2000 to 2008. He was a winner of the "Sunnys" Coffs Coast Small Business Awards in 2000 and 2001, and received numerous shopping centre awards for business excellence between 2005 and 2008. Darren was Marketing and Retail Manager of Park Beach Plaza / HomeBase and Orana Mall in Dubbo.

He was the 2006 finalist at the National Shopping Centre Marketing Awards. Darren is the current store owner of Swimwear Australia, in Park Beach Plaza, Coffs Harbour.
