    New course: Introduction to Screenwriting - Short Films

    ScreenLinks non-accredited short course screenwriting series is designed to bring out the best in budding writers across all genres.

    Introduction to Screenwriting - Short Films is designed to give the new writer a chance to explore this writing genre over two days. Only 12 places are available per course. The course is taught by industry professional Simon Portus.

    About the Presenter

    Simon Portus completed his degree in film and theatre at the University of NSW in 2000. Since then he has been making short films and writing feature screenplays. In 2005 Simon was funded through the NSW Film and Television Offices Young Filmmaker's Fund to make his short film Adrift. The film premiered at The Sydney Film Festival Dendy Awards and has since been shown at various prominent festivals in both Australia and overseas. The film was also sold to ABC television.
