Leading Kempsey employer McDonalds has been announced as the Enterprise & Training Company Limited (ETC) Employer of the Month.
Restaurant Manager Adam Gould said he was very proud for McDonalds to receive the recognition.
“I’ve been with McDonalds Kempsey for 9 years and this is the first achievement with relation to employment and hiring of staff that we’ve had,” Mr Gould said.
According to Mr Gould there are many benefits for staff employed by McDonalds.
“We are provided with nationally recognised training and have the opportunity to advance in our careers. There is potential to progress through the organisation to become a manager like I have,” Mr Gould said.
People Performance Manager Rebecca DeGioia said the store hadn’t affected local sales within the CBD.
“We’re hoping to get the travelling people and not take too much from the other store,” Ms DeGioia said.
The recent opening of the South Kempsey Travel Centre has boosted employment opportunities for the region, with McDonalds alone hiring up to 100 staff, 80 of which were recruited through ETC.
“We did all of our recruiting through ETC. They helped with advertising in the newspaper as well as going through their client lists,” Ms DeGioia said.
“ETC is great to deal with and very effective. The people they bring in are high class and we’re really happy with the staff we’ve recruited.
I couldn’t thank the ETC Kempsey Recruitment team enough with everything they’ve helped me with. It was such a massive job to get this amount of staff for both stores.”
