It’s Easy to Find Suitable Staff Quickly with ETC
Established just 18 months ago, Millennium Pet Foods Pty Ltd is an Australian owned company based in Helensvale, Queensland. The company works in association with Barco Queensland in regard to the supply of meat for the Gold Coast production plant which now employs between 20 and 25 local staff.
General Manager, Daniel McGettigan, is the driving force behind the business and over that time, he has managed to secure a number of large contracts, one with wholesale produce distributor Metcash, owner of the IGA supermarkets.
Increased business growth, however, comes with the added responsibility of finding suitable staff something that like most employers, Daniel finds challenging. “It’s hard, really hard”, said Daniel, “And I needed people to start straight away”.
By chance, ETC Business Relationship Advisor Debbie Zink was visiting local employers in the area to discuss staffing requirements and her visit to Millennium Pet Foods was extremely fortuitous. Daniel quickly entrusted the recruitment of his latest two staff members to Debbie. He is thrilled with the result.
One of the two new staff was previously long term unemployed and was despondent about ever finding the right role. However, Daniel said that he is working out perfectly and hasn’t missed a day on the job since commencement.
His second recruit was a young woman named Dannielle Hendry. In search of a full time role after studying full time for her Diploma in Community Services, Dannielle is really appreciative of ETC and their assistance in helping her prepare for the interview. Within days of Debbie introducing her to Daniel, Dannielle started in the role of office administrator.
When Daniel spends time away from the factory, it is now Dannielle who steps up to handle the orders and office enquiries. “I love the role, it is absolutely amazing”, and for other young job seekers, Dannielle has this to add, “Always remain positive, accept all the help you can get from your business advisor to become “job ready”.
With the business poised for further growth, both new staff members will have the added opportunity to grow and develop with the company.
