ETC is offering a new course which has a strong practical focus and is designed to equip you with the skills needed to start a career in Office, Retail, Hospitality and Customer service roles.

Develop your skills while we support you in a learning pathway to gain a Certificate III in Business qualification and an accredited skillset in Customer Service.

Students will be offered work placement during the course.

This training is proudly funded and supported by the Queensland Government through its Skilling Queenslanders for Work  initiative.

Course Description

The Get Set for Work program offers tailored assistance to Queenslanders to gain nationally recognised skills in Business and Customer Service. The program focuses on developing an individual’s skills, supporting them to begin a learning pathway to gain a Certificate III in Business qualification and an accredited skillset in customer service.

Entry Requirements

There are no formal prerequisites, anyone with a genuine interest in undertaking accredited training and commencing a career pathway is encouraged to apply.

Student Support

Learners will receive feedback after each assessment/assignment and the trainer/assessor will be available to discuss the feedback or provide additional assistance or direction as appropriate. Trainers/assessors are also available by email/phone for any discussion or problems that students experience during their study.

Delivery and Duration

Course delivery is over 12 weeks, 2 days per week. Students will also be offered work placement during the course duration.

To be eligible, prospective participants must meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • Queensland residents
  • Aged 15 to 19 years old
  • Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident (includes humanitarian entrant), temporary resident with the necessary visa and work permits on a pathway to permanent residency or a New Zealand citizen.

The project is primarily targeting Queensland residents who:

  • require complementary services because they have barriers to learning and employment; or
  • have accessed Australian Government services for more than six months and remain unemployed; or
  • are ineligible for Australian Government employment services or assistance.
