Certificate III in Retail – SIR30216

Certificate III in Retail reflects the role of individuals who have the primary responsibility of engaging the customer, maintaining daily store operations and delivering on organisation expectations with a sound knowledge of product and service offerings.  Individuals possess a range of well-developed skills where discretion and judgement is required.  They work with some independence under limited supervision.

What jobs am I qualified for?

Individuals with this qualification are able to perform roles such as frontline sales assistant, customer service representative, shop assistant, retail supervisor, team leader and senior sales assistant.

What does the course include?

This qualification comprises of 13 units.

  • 8 core units plus
  • 5 elective units, consisting of 3 units from the electives list, 2 units from the electives list, elsewhere in SIR Retail Services Training Package, or any other current Training Package or accredited course.

The selection of electives must be guided by the job outcome sought, local industry requirements and the complexity of skills appropriate to the AQF level of this qualification.

Entry Requirements

There are no formal prerequisites for this qualification. However, it is preferred that candidates have relevant vocational experience and/or an industry specific qualification. There are no formal educational requirements for entry into this course.

Student Support

Learners will receive feedback after each assessment/assignment and the trainer/assessor will be available to discuss the feedback or provide additional assistance or direction as appropriate. Trainers/assessors are also available by email/phone for any discussion or problems that students experience during their study.

Delivery and Duration

This qualification is suitable for an Australian Apprenticeship pathway with an average duration of 12 months.
